Biography
Quinton Bemiller is a painter, educator and curator. He is a fifth-generation Southern Californian whose paintings express emotions connected to particular experiences in time. He has presented solo exhibitions at LAUNCH LA, Offramp Gallery, Armory Center for the Arts, Los Angeles International Airport, Torrance Art Museum, and Gallery 825. He has been included in group exhibitions at Cal Baptist University, UC Riverside, Merry Karnowsky Projects, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), Plant Zero Art Center in Richmond, VA, Boston University, and Laguna Art Museum, among others. He has received individual artist grants from the City of Los Angeles and the City of Pasadena, CA. His art has been acquired by numerous private collectors and is in the permanent collection of the Boston Public Library.
Quinton Bemiller has served as a private art instructor, adjunct faculty, tenured Associate Professor of Art, and is currently Dean of Arts & Humanities and Social & Behavioral Sciences at Norco College, Riverside Community College District. Quinton Bemiller has curated over forty exhibitions, serving as the Director of the Kellogg Gallery at Cal Poly Pomona, Director of the Norco College Art Gallery, and Co-Owner/Co-Curator of Project_210, an alternative gallery in Pasadena, CA. Quinton Bemiller also curates independently, organizes private art tours, and occasionally serves as an art exhibition juror, guest lecturer, consultant, and art writer.
Quinton Bemiller was born in Arcadia, CA, grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, and graduated from Temple City High School. He studied art and music at Pasadena City College, where he earned an Associate degree (A.A.) in Studio Art. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree at The Art Institute of Boston, now known as the College of Art & Design at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree (M.F.A.) at Claremont Graduate University and later completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D) at California State University, San Bernardino. Quinton Bemiller lives and works in Riverside, CA.
